These books have so much in them to keep kids engaged for learning. They are great books to practice tracing lowercase letters and numbers by being “mistake proof,” as you can easily just wipe the markings and do it again! The books will help with reading, sound and item recognition, fine motor strengthening, visual motor strengthening, visual perception strengthening and counting. They can be used for kiddos from ages 2 and up. Even if they are not at the point of tracing yet, they can look at the pictures and differentiate items. For example, you can have your child scan the page to find a crayon among a cluttered page.
Some helpful tips:
Make sure to position your child’s grasp in the correct one when using the marker
Demonstrate tracing a letter or number first then have your child practice.
If they are having difficulty with tracing, you can do hand over hand assist and place your hands on theirs to facilitate their movement
Make it educational! Have them differentiate pictures, count, and read!
Provide positive praise when completing things correctly
Have fun with it!
