POP BEADS!

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

I love using pop beads during my occupational therapy treatments. When attaching these beads, students are really trying to use their fine motor strength and pinching skills to attach the beads to each other. Further, this will work on eye hand coordination and visual skills to correctly attach the two beads by putting the counterpart into the hole. One tip I have with these beads is that for kiddos whose pinching skills are still developing, use the beads that are larger and longer, as they will be easier to grasp. Enjoy making fun jewelry with your children!

Some other things you can do with the beads are:

  • Sort them by color, shape and size

  • Make patterns

  • Practice counting

  • Hide them in play doh and have kids find them

  • Trace letters with them on play doh/ paper (need to make letter large)
